Friday 9 October – Sunday 15 November 2026

The lanterns are lit again. Halloween returns with a rebuilt sweets economy, a third world boss, a season ranking with prizes for the top 10, new treats, potions, beds and backpacks. Many systems changed since previous years, so this guide walks through the whole event from the first sweet to the last boss.

New marks what arrives in 2026. Changed marks returning features that work differently than in previous years.

Event calendar

    The lanterns light up

    The event starts. Sweets begin to drop, trick-or-treating opens and every Halloween NPC offers seasonal trades.

  2. 31 Oct

    Halloween night

    The souvenir chest in West City opens for one day. Bring a character of level 20+ who has finished today's Desmond task.

  3. 15 Nov

    The last candle

    Final day of the event. The ranking closes and the top 10 receive their prizes.

New Earth wears its Halloween colours for the whole event. Forests, jungles, deserts and rain get dedicated Halloween shaders, auras glow a warmer orange, and event messages arrive as pumpkin and witch notices in your client.

The sweets economy

Sweets are the event's currency. Four colours exist, and each colour is worth more than the last. You can spend them on treats and furniture, exchange them, feed them to ghosts or pave your way through the Haunted House.

Changed Goodie bags no longer drop from monsters. They come from quests and the Mayor's contest instead, and they no longer contain sweets.

Exchanging sweets

The Halloween Spirit exchanges sweets at fixed rates. Downwards, 100 green = 10 blue = 1 red. Going up costs a premium, so trade up only what you plan to spend.

How to ask

  • Say exchange to the Halloween Spirit to list the conversions.
  • Put the amount before the higher-tier sweet: blue to 10 red costs 140 blue sweets, and 10 red to blue gives 100 blue sweets.
  • Green to blue works in batches of 7 blue sweets, for example green to 70 blue.
  • A single trade delivers up to 1,000 items. Confirm each trade with yes.

Trick-or-treat

Changed

Stand in front of the door of a house that belongs to another player and type trick-or-treat. Your character knocks, and two seconds later you learn what the owners left out.

  • Every visit gives 3-6 green sweets. A visit also has a 1 in 3 chance of a blue sweet, a 1 in 30 chance of a red sweet and a small chance of a Halloween candy.
  • Every visit has a 10% chance of a Halloween point.
  • A door rests for 3 minutes after any visit, whoever made it.
  • Your account can make 15 visits per hour and 120 visits per day, shared by all of your characters.
  • Empty houses, your own house and resting doors don't use up your allowance.

Treats and redeemables

Four NPCs trade with you during Halloween. Prefix any purchase with a quantity, for example 10 shadow fruits or 2 potions of intensity. Each NPC repeats the price and the full effect before you confirm.

Boosters of the same kind don't stack. Experience, skill and drop boosts can run at the same time as each other and alongside a Halloween candy.

Say redeem for treats and beds, exchange for sweets.

The ghost that started it all now runs the event shop and the sweets exchange.

Urunai Baba

Say redeem.

The fortune teller turns red sweets into purple ones and brews three potions. Each potion can be drunk once per character per day, and all three on the same day.

Mayor of East City

The Mayor's contest hands out goodie bags. Only five bags are given out across the whole server each day, one per account.

Inside a goodie bag

Opening a bag picks one of ten equally likely rewards:

  1. 10,000-500,000 zenni, straight to your bank
  2. A random tier 1 gem

  4. A refining gem
  5. A Halloween candy
  6. Two pumpkin juices below level 200, a witch's heart at 200-379, or a candy at 380+
  7. One to three seeds
  8. A tier 3 broken gem bag
  9. A random booster fruit, legendary ones included
  10. A star fruit or a shadow fruit

Backpacks

The crafting spot inside the Haunted House opens once you complete the Haunted House quest. Place the ingredients of one recipe on the spot and use it. Every craft is announced to the server and earns 50 Halloween points. The pumpkin backpack recipe from previous years also still works on the same spot.

Black widow silk drops from Black Widows and from Frankenstein.

Halloween quests

Changed

Both quests now reset every Halloween, so you can play them again each year for their rewards and points. Track your progress in the quest log.

Halloween Party

Level 100 · Farmer, Penguin Island

  1. Ask Farmer about his problem and report the case to Police Officer Bob in West City.
  2. Ask Cristin for a scary mask: one skeleton head, ten blue pieces of cloth and a hundred bandages.
  3. Bring the mask to Bulma at South City Airport and fly her jet to the party on Autumn Island.
  4. Talk to the Mysterious Guest, then defeat Pumpkling and his undead army.
  5. Report the attack to Police Officer Bob.

950,000 experience, 250,000 zenni, 2 goodie bags, a Halloween candy and 100 Halloween points.

Haunted House

Level 170 · Bulma

  1. Ask Bulma about her problem and look for clues about Pumpkling's hideout. The Mayor knows more.
  2. Search the Haunted House. Its puzzles need levers, barrels of water, mirrors and a careful hand.
  3. The sweet floor demands an exact payment of sweets in the colour it shows. A wrong count is fatal.
  4. Feed the Starving Ghosts to weaken the Black Widow eggs. Green sweets fill 1% of a ghost's hunger, blue 10%, and a red sweet or a candy fills it completely. Hunger slowly returns.
  5. Climb Pumpking's Headquarters and defeat Pumpking on the last floor.

4-8 million experience and 2-3 million zenni depending on your level, 75 Halloween points and the reward chests: 5 goodie bags, 10 Halloween candies and a jack-o'-lantern every year, plus a witch hat that summons a ghost pet once per character.

Souvenir chest. On 31 October only, the chest in West City gives every level 20+ character who finished that day's Desmond task an engraved pumpkinhead, Halloween boosters for your level and 30 Halloween points. One claim per character per year.

World bosses

Every monster killed during Halloween fills the spawn meter of one boss, depending on the monster's level. At 5,000 kills the next kill by a player of the boss's level range summons it. The whole server gets a 3-minute warning, and the boss appears where that player stands.

  • Only players of the boss's level range can attack it.
  • Every player who dealt at least 5% of the boss's health and stands on its screen at the kill earns 10 Halloween points.
  • The sweets pool is rolled once per kill and shared through threat loot and party distribution, not given in full to everyone.
  • Bosses, quest monsters and Tesla Coils don't fill any meter.

Fighting Frankenstein

Frankenstein has 45 million health and fights in four phases. At 75%, 50% and 25% health he galvanizes: he stops, becomes invulnerable and raises four Tesla Coils around him.

  • Destroy all four coils to short-circuit him: he is exposed for a short window.
  • Every coil left alive heals him, makes him permanently stronger and ends the galvanize with a Heart Surge that takes 40% of your health.
  • The scorched spots of destroyed coils are the only safe ground from the surge.
  • Static marks explode after 4 seconds. Their damage grows with every extra player caught in the blast, so spread out.

Halloween now has its own ranking. Points are collected per character and per year, and the ten best characters of Halloween 2026 win the prizes below.

Legendary boosters: arcade cherry (+75% drop rate, 30 min), galactic dragonfruit (+30% experience, 30 min) and shiny kiwi (+30% skill rate, 30 min). Standard boosters: hellish redcurrants (+50% drop rate, 20 min), demon apple (+20% experience, 20 min) and heavenly mango (+20% skill rate, 15 min).

Good to know

  • !halloween shows your trick-or-treat visits today, your skill and drop boosts, an unused voyage charge, your points and how close each world boss is.
  • Halloween potions, star fruit and shadow fruit work only during Halloween. Boosts still running when the event ends are cleared.
  • The potion of voyage only covers the character who drank it. Party members still need their own task points or their own charge.
  • Shadow fruit raises drop chances but not guaranteed amounts, so the bosses' sweet pools don't grow with it.
  • Sweets, items and boosters you already own from previous years are kept.
